Highlights

Graduates from Asia holding a first degree in law, business or economics and who have good academic records are eligible to apply to join our LL.M. International Finance program. The ILF, which is located in Frankfurt, the major financial center in Europe, provides the ideal location to train young professionals to deal with both current and future legal and financial challenges. We strive to provide our students with a solid and comprehensive legal and financial education set in a dynamic learning environment, thereby giving them the legal training they need to excel in their careers.

Our Master of Laws in International Banking, Securities and Finance (LL.M. International Finance) program offers excellent interdisciplinary and practice-oriented training in the areas of international and European banking, securities and finance law. By studying at the ILF, you will be trained not only to deal with but also to excel in this increasingly important area where the worlds of international law and global finance meet. You will be taught by prominent professors from Goethe University Frankfurt am Main as well as experts from the legal and financial industries. Frankfurt plays a central role in European and global finance.

Since English is the sole language of instruction, applicants must have a good command of written and spoken English. No more than 30 students will be admitted in order to ensure academic excellence and direct, personal contact between students and the faculty.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAM

The LL.M. International Finance program at the ILF is a one-year postgraduate degree program. It is divided into two semesters, namely the winter semester (October to February) and the summer semester (April to July). The program commences in October and teaching ends in July of the following year.

CONFERMENT OF DEGREE

The LL.M. International Finance Degree is conferred by the Faculty of Law of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.

ACCREDITATION

The ILF is proud to announce that in July 2021, both our LL.M. Finance and LL.M. International Finance programs have been officially re-accredited via the Goethe Univesrity System Accreditation Process until 2029!

This award of an 8-year re-accreditation period until 2029 builds on our 20 years of expertise in education and training in the fields of law and finance relevant for Master’s programs. It further affirms our commitment to academic excellence, continuous progress and ongoing improvement.

Our two LL.M. programs were re-accredited after undergoing a stringent process which involved a thorough review and analysis of the programs and their individual components as well as intensive discussions conducted with current students, alumni, lecturers and administrative staff.
